Data Protection and GDPR Compliance

  1. We acknowledge that we are subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
  2. We understand that we are exempt from registering with the Information Commissioner's Office.
  3. We keep details of each Member's name, address, telephone number and email address on a computer database. This data base is kept securely off-line by the Membership Secretary, and is not accessible remotely via the Internet. It is not divulged outside FOCF (except as may be required by law) and is only available to FOC officials on a need-to know basis.
  4. We use "Mail Chimp" to communicate with members. This means that Mail Chimp has a copy of your name and email address. Mail Chimp is "committed to compliance [sic] with the General Data Protection Regulation.
  5. We keep a record of attendance at indoor meetings. This record is kept as hard-copy signatures in the attendance register. It is not computerised.
  6. Your Personal data is deleted:-
    • When a member specifically requests it; or
    • Within 18 months of a member failing to renew their annual subscription.
